THE THANKSGIVING MEAL: AN INTRODUCTORY LESSON IN INGREDIENTS

The meal itself (as described on the labels):
Cream of mushroom soup, a relish tray made up of carrots, celery and cherry tomatoes, assorted mixed nuts, green salad with basil-mustard vinaigrette, roast turkey with bread stuffing and cranberry sauce -- or prime rib of beef with parsley sauce -- broccoli spears, baked potato, sweet potato, rolls with butter, pumpkin and apple pies, fresh fruit, red wine, coffee and jasmine tea.

Chemical listings for the meal (as hidden from your precious non-scientific eyes):
hydrazines, aniline, caffeic acid, benzaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, quercetin glycosides, furan derivatives, psoralens, aflatoxin, furfural, allyl isothiocyanate, estragole, methyl eugenol, benzene, ethyl alcohol and benzyl acetate. Most of these are rodent carcinogens, some are human carcinogens in high quantities and others can cause genetic mutations
